Skate-Tec OT2 Short Track Blade + Bridge
Skate-Tec OT2 Short Track Blade + Bridge (Otto) — a complete setup: OT2 blades and the OT2 / Otto bridge are included. Developed with Olympic champions around a bridge instead of standard cups.
What's included: one pair of OT2 Short Track blades (chosen length & stiffness) plus the matching OT2 bridge. No separate bridge purchase needed.
Bridge instead of cups
The bridge creates a rigid connection between the front and back mounting points, which prevents unwanted tension from boot inaccuracies. It also lets the blade flex more, so you can skate with less bend. Less bend reduces friction and improves gliding at higher speeds.
- 215 mm bridge span between front and back
- 165 mm mounting points on the boot (standard cup spacing retained)
- Bend change at the start is greatly reduced — often almost nothing
- Quick two-bolt blade exchange
- Lightweight bridge construction
Flex versus Firm
- Firm — Most pressure through the stroke
- Flex — Less pressure; Flex FT (not separately listed here) is the softest end of the OT2 range
Pressure difference between Firm and Flex is a bit more noticeable than on the M-Wave. OT2 Flex pressure is roughly comparable to a Firm M-Wave.
Setup notes
There is no single optimal setup. For long powerful strokes, use a flatter mid-rocker and a bit less bend than a typical M-Wave. For more steering and agility, keep a normal rocker with substantially less bend and let bend increase less toward the front. If the front digs in on high-speed laps, round the front or simply use less bend.
With the bridge you can lean more, so the boot can touch the ice sooner — going 1–2 mm higher than your previous cup height is often advised.
Lengths on Short Track Equipment
Offered here in 17", 17.5", and 18", in Flex and Firm — each variant includes the OT2 bridge.
