Skate-Tec M-Wave Short Track Blade — higher cups and M-shaped forks for stability at the speeds Short Track has reached. Less boot contact with the ice in corners, better load transfer, and more even stiffness over the tube.

Designed for higher speeds

Athletes reach higher speeds and push equipment harder than ever. The quest for more stability and safety has driven demand for higher blade cups so the boot stays clear of the ice in corners. The M-Wave answers that call.

Unique to the M-Wave are its M-shaped forks. The construction transfers high loads more cleanly and distributes stiffness more evenly over the tube — for higher stability, and therefore more speed.

Flex versus Firm

• Flex — Thinner at the bottom of the tube. Less material near the blade lets it bend more into the corner for a more dynamic feel. Better suited for lighter skaters. Default height +3 mm vs typical brand baseline.
• Firm — More material at the bottom of the tube. Stiffer and holds its bend at higher forces. Better suited for heavier skaters. Default height +5 mm.

Standard versus Flattop

• Standard — Higher cross-section in the middle of the tube; stiffer in the normal direction and helps the blade hold its rocker.
• Flattop — Lower cross-section; more flexible under load, which flattens the rocker during the stroke.

Heights are measured against the Nagano / common-brand default cup height. ST cups are available from roughly −2 to +6 mm; angled cups on request.

Materials & build

• Tube: Stiff 7000-series anodized aluminum
• Blade: 62 HRC Powder Metal (PM) or BiMetal (Flex); Firm typically PM
• Bend: Pre-bent with a continuous ~25 m radius
• Fork spacing: 165 mm standard (shifted spacing on request)

Offered here in 17", 17.5", and 18", in Flex and Firm. Other lengths and odd sizes are available on special request from Skate-Tec.
